Acte I : L'anomalie

Kaito subit les brimades d'un camarade de classe sans réagir. En rentrant chez lui, il passe devant une vitrine et remarque que son reflet est normal, mais que son ombre dans le miroir étrangle l'ombre du reflet du camarade. Pris de panique, il rencontre Hana qui l'avertit : "Si tu ne cries pas ce que tu penses, ton ombre finira par hurler à ta place."

Acte II : La rupture

Le soir même, alors que la frustration de Kaito atteint son paroxysme, son ombre se détache partiellement et commence à saccager sa chambre. Kaito réalise que l'ombre s'apprête à sortir pour s'en prendre à ceux qu'il déteste secrètement. Il doit la poursuivre à travers les toits de la ville. Le combat n'est pas physique, mais mental : plus Kaito nie sa colère, plus l'ombre grandit.

Acte III : La fusion

Kaito rattrape son ombre devant la maison de son oppresseur. Au lieu de combattre l'ombre, il l'enlace. Il accepte enfin sa propre colère et ses faiblesses. L'ombre se stabilise et reprend sa place au sol. Elle ne disparaît pas, mais elle change de forme : elle porte désormais un petit détail qui reflète la personnalité authentique de Kaito.
